Preschool and Toddler Programs
Our program runs year round Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (8 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for toddlers aged 18 months to age three). We offer small groups sizes and low ratios. We are a State of Ohio licensed program and a complete program description can be found in our Parent Handbook.
We provide an emotionally safe environment for children to learn cognitively, and to gain self-control, problem solving and nurturing skills. This is largely achieved by recognizing that children should have logical consequences verses punishment. For example, should a child take a toy from another child, the logical consequence is for the child to leave the area and find another area to play. We find when logical consequences verses punishments (i.e., time out when used in front of peers) are used, a calm and emotionally safe environment for making mistakes and learning and growing in is created.
Although religion is not part of our curriculum, we do offer a non-denominational religion program as a way of further sharing and appreciating our differences. Children do not have to attend this program, which is offered for preschool and pre-kindergarten children only. The group meets for about one-half hour twice a month (except during summers).
