Immanuel Presbyterian Church

Church History

Immanuel Presbyterian Church has a rich history of service in the Clifton community and beyond.  In 2007-2008, Immanuel will celebrate its 125th anniversary.  We have a strong heritage of providing Christian education, excellent musicianship, and childcare in the Clifton area.

Because Jesus has loved and saved us, we invite and welcome all people to share in meeting, loving, praising and serving God.

Our Beginnings at Immanuel

We were founded in 1882 by several Clifton families and 25 children - first as a Sunday School to supplement the downtown churches.  This effort was led by Mrs. Robert Morrison (nee Olivia Procter).  In 1929, Mrs. Margaret Benton realized the need for childcare in the area, and started Immanuel Child Development Center - which celebrated it's 75th Anniversary in 2004.

The Future of Immanuel

As we look to the future, we seek to reach further into our community, in anser to God's call, and the changing needs of our neighbors - sharing our faith, fellowship and care with the local and broader community.
